Aylo says device-based verification is the approach it has pushed for years.
Now, Aylo is praising a different kind of age check. It said Apple's recent Australian update "set a benchmark by enabling child safety features automatically for users who have not verified that they are adults."
In other words, the pitch is that the phone does the checking, not each site. Aylo says it "welcomes eligible age-confirmed Australian iOS users back to Pornhub."
The spokesperson said it remains the responsibility of individual services to ensure the measures they use meet their obligations under Australia's Online Safety Act.
Aylo has also blocked access to its sites in numerous U.S. states and in France, which it says have impractical and unworkable age-verification laws, XBIZ reports.
